How this tool works
Methodology reviewed 2026-07-11The tool loads a selected image in the browser, applies a local machine-learning segmentation model, and exports a new image with background pixels made transparent. File size and image-dimension guards limit work that could exhaust browser memory. Segmentation predicts foreground from visual patterns; it does not understand ownership, consent, identity, or the intended boundary of every object, so the preview must be inspected before download.

A high-contrast product photo on a plain background will usually separate more cleanly than translucent glass, smoke, hair, shadows, or a subject whose colors closely match the surrounding scene.
